Trials riders Janine Jungfels (QLD) and Nathan Mummery (VIC) will fly the Australian flag at the 2019 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Chengdu, China this weekend.
Jungfels, who won the rainbow jersey back in 2015, will be keen to improve upon her bronze medal from 2018.
The biggest stumbling block to achieving a second gold medal is Germany’s Nina Reichenbach who has won the women’s world championship title the past three years.
Mummery, the current Australian men’s champion, made it to the semi-finals and finished 18th last year behind eventual winner Englishman Jack Carthy.
