A handful of Australian riders took to the slush and sand for the 2019 UCI Masters Cyclo-Cross World Championship in Mol, Belgium over the weekend.
In the Women’s Masters 50-54 Vanessa Johnson from the South Perth CC finished an impressive sixth in her category 4 minutes behind the eventual winner, while Canberra based Hilde Grande also finished in the top 10 in the Masters Womens 40-44 in eighth place.
Of the Australian men who ventured over to Belgium to take on the worlds best, Mike Lawson battled away in the Masters Men 65-69 to finish on the lead lap in 11th position.
North Warrandyte’s Craig Peacock finished 20th in a stacked Masters Men 60-64 field and in the Masters 40-44 Kristoffer Grande from Canberra would finish in 26th place.
