Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) are pleased to confirm the date and location for the 2018 Solo 24hr National Championships, which will be held at Wauchope, New South Wales 15-16th September.
It’s the first time in more than 10 years the event has been run outside of Canberra, with the race to use the exisiting trails in the Broken Bago State Forest on the Mid North Coast.
More than 500 riders are expected to take part across the weekend with the Blackbutt 24hr MTB Championships to run in conjunction with the national event.
Race Organiser Jaime Voegel of Trail Terra said the trails in the Broken Bago State Forest comprise of fast and flowing single track with the occasional challenge and fire road.
Riders will negotiate their way around the 11.6km loop which has around 125m of elevation.
The event will cater for solo 24-hour riders competing for the national championship as well as solo and team riders in a 6hr + 6hr Blackbutt Endurance Championship category.
Racing will start at a unique time for 24-hr racing at 10 am Saturday and finish 10 am Sunday.=
