MTBA Event Schedule Update

Posted by jo-2, June 9, 2020

As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Mountain Bike Australia has cancelled or rescheduled a number of National events.

The following major events have been cancelled in 2020:

  • 24HR Solo National Championships – originally scheduled 2nd-3rd May, Adelaide, SA
  •  Fat Bike National Championships – originally scheduled 15th May, Broome, WA
  •  School National Championships – originally scheduled 14th – 16th August, Gold Coast, QLD

MTBA have developed a strategy to guide the delivery of major events in a COVID-19 environment. However, delivery of the following events will be dependent upon government health guidelines and restrictions in each state and territory, with everyone’s safety taken into consideration as the major priority.

The following major events have been rescheduled:

XCM National Championships
Date: 19th September
Venue: Dwellingup, WA
Host: The event will be held in conjunction with the Dwellingup100 and will be co-hosted with the private promoter.

GE National Championships

Venue: Red Hill, VIC
Host: Red Hill Mountain Bike Club

CX National Championships

The CX National Championships that were scheduled to take place on the 29th-30th of August hosted by Sam Miranda King Valley have been cancelled. MTBA are avidly working towards confirming a new venue and a new date in 2020 and futher details will be released as soon as possible.
MTBA understands the challenges and uncertainty the mountain bike community have experienced in regards to the racing calendar, and appreciate your understanding and patience.
