Toowoomba mountain biker Declan Trezise walked away from the 2020 Federation University RoadNats in Ballarat, Victoria with two gold medals after the five day championships.
Trezise claimed the coveted road title in a time of 2h49:58 after 104.4 km around the Mount Buninyong course on Saturday.
The St Mary’s College student would also walk away with the gold medal in the Junior Men criterium on the Friday.
There were a number of dirt riders who competed acrosss the five days of competition.
Brendan Johnston finished ninth in a heavily stacked elite men’s field, with fellow mtb’ers Cameron Ivory (17th) and Reece Tucknott (35th).
Alex Lack, Tasman Nankervis, Daniel McConnell and Garry Millburn also competed in the 185.6km race around Buninyong.
In the elite women 2019 UCI MTB XCO World Championship bronze medallist Rebecca McConnell was using the road race as some extra training ahead of the Oceania MTB Championships in Dunedin, New Zealand in two weeks.
McConnell would finish in 24th along with another elite womens mtb rider Holly Harris in 25th out of a field of 79 staters.
In the Under 23 men, Will Ockenden (27th), Matt Dinham (43rd), Isaac Buckell (50th), Brent Rees (58th) and Cameron Wright (68th) would finish in the field of 119 riders.
Alex Bogna from Mackay finished just shy of a medal in fourth in the junior men while Liam Johston was 16th, Riley Cowling (17th) and Dylan George also finished inside the top 20.
