Janine Jungfels (QLD) continues to show she is one of the worlds best trials riders after claiming a bronze medal at the 2018 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Chengdu, China recently.
The Brisbane based rider finished behind the defending champion Nina Reichenbach (GER) who won her third straight rainbow jersey and Manon Basseville (FRA) who finished second.
The bronze medal completes the set after the 30 year old claimed silver in 2016 and the gold medal the year prior.
Jungfels said there were plenty of tricky sections that caught all riders out on course.
“There were special features like the rock section that was very slippery and the very last gate was a big jump and not many people got there.”
“In the water section, the cascades we actually had to go into the water which made it very difficult but it was a nice competition.”
Jungfels finished in fifth place last year.
