Mountain Bike Australia’s (MTBA) Annual General Meeting, held on Saturday 3 November, saw four members elected as new Directors to the MTBA Board.
Congratulations and welcome to Alison Blyth, Robyn Walker, Tony Scott and Wayne Shearer who will join current Directors April Rich, Lachlan Murray, Lisa Morisset, Lee Brentzell and Peter McKendry.
Fellow Directors and MTBA’s CEO, Shane Coppin thanked departing Directors, Tony Hancock and Courtenay Lee Shoy for their leadership and contribution to MTBA throughout their term.
At the Board meeting following the AGM, Lee Brentzell was elected as Chair and made reference to the Board’s strong female representation, diverse skills, backgrounds and interests in mountain biking.
“Although MTBA’s female membership is currently at 17%, both the MTBA Board and staff are now majority female, at 55% and 58% respectively.”
“This is encouraging to see and MTBA will continue to work to increase female membership and participation in mountain biking from young children to elite athletes and everyone in between who just love riding trails in the great outdoors,” she said.
The Board is committed to governance excellence and MTBA’s continual development as a high performing organisation and leading positive change.
