Australian XCM Team Announced

The Australian team to compete at the UCI MTB Marathon World Championships at Aruonzo di Cadore, Italy in September has been finalised.

The seven member team comprise of Daniel McConnell (ACT), Sebastian Jayne (VIC), Ben May (QLD) and Morgan Pilley (NSW) contesting the elite men.

While current Australian women’s champion Anna Beck (QLD), Holly Harris (NSW) and Imogen Smith (QLD) will compete in the elite women category.

MTBA CEO Shane Coppin congratulated those who were selected and wished them luck over in Italy next month.

“It’s a great achievement to represent your country at any event especially something so physically challenging as the marathon discipline and I know they will perform to the best of their abilities”. 

The race courses are 113 km long with 4,500 m difference in altitude for the men and 98 km long with 3,600 m difference in altitude for the women.
