International Representation


All athletes wishing to be considered for selection in National Teams are advised to carefully read and understand the Section A eligibility criteria, and the relevant specific criteria for their discipline. In particular athletes are reminded of their obligations surrounding extenuating circumstances for injury and/or illness, which must be fulfilled prior to any event the exemption is applied for. Athletes and coaches are welcomed and encouraged to discuss their season plans and racing schedules to best maximise their chances for selection with MTBA’s Sport Manager –  Evan James

CX World Cup entries are administrated by MTBA in conjunction with Cycling Australia. Currently there are no minimum performance standards for World Cup entry. Dates and venues for the 2018/19 CX World Cup season can be found HERE

Australia has a maximum allocation of 8 riders each in Elite Men and Women, and 6 riders each in U23 and Junior Men for each World Cup round. Note that currently there are no U23 or Junior Women categories at CX World Cups. In the event there are more riders requesting entry than there are allocated places, entry will prioritised by riders UCI ranking at the latest published list prior to entries opening.

1. ASADA Anti-Doping Level 2
All applicants need to complete the 2018 ASADA e-learning level 2 course – the link to the 2018 course is available on the ASADA website HERE. Once completed certificates need to be emailed to

2. 2018 Cycling Australia National Team Agreement (NTA)
The agreement can be found HERE. Please read this document carefully and complete the execution page, medical profile and (if applicable) the parent guardian agreement. Note the requirement to have signatures witnessed. Once completed the agreement needs to be scanned and sent to

3. Cycling Australia No Doping Statutory Declaration (NDD)
This is only required from applicants who have not previously signed a declaration and are aged 18 or over. Please download and sign the declaration applicable to your state HERENote that the declaration must be witnessed by a JP or authorised person. A scan should be sent to and the original must be posted to Rik Fulcher c/o Cycling Australia, PO Box 646, Enfield Plaza, SA 5085.

All riders are also required to have a UCI license and the associated insurance cover for the period you will be racing overseas. UCI licenses are issued by Cycling Australia.
