It's been an eventful 2021 already and the first month has flown by. Congratulations to all the Member Clubs who put in a tremendous amount of work in hosting numerous events across the Summer. From eSport and criterium racing to School holiday programs and National Championships there certainly is a pulpable energy and wheels of all sizes hitting the boards, riding the berms or navigating new trails.

It's not all about pinning a number on. Ride Nation continues to expand its platform. Work is being completed to detail a comprehensive framework for Schools, for educators, students and becoming a meeting and marketplace for riders and service providers. A greater emphasis has been placed on advocacy and infrastructure to ensure a people of all ages feel confident to cycle and have safe places to ride.

AusCycling Victoria welcomes incoming CEO Marnie Fechner and expresses gratitude to Shane Coppin and Steve Drake for their contribution in bringing AusCycling to fruition.

AusCycling encourages anyone sitting on the fence to give it a go! The Melbourne to Warrnambool is one of the most iconic bike races in the country, it is the second oldest one day cycling event in the world and the longest in the entire Southern hemisphere.

The BMX State Series rounds in Shepparton are COVID-safe events meaning rider numbers and spectators are capped at a maximum 400 riders and 1 spectator per rider.

Shepparton BMX will run open gates on the Friday afternoon/evening from 5pm (5m only), 7pm (8m only). Pre-purchase entry only via Entry Boss, buy when entering for the main event.

Plenty of NRS Talent Preparing for the 2021 Powercor Melbourne to Warrnambool!

The main race of the Melbourne to Warrnambool forms part of the AusCycling National Road Series with some of Australia’s best jumping in the saddle to try and get their names on the prestigious honour board.

Australian Cycling team member and Victorian young gun Luke Plapp will be one of many top tier riders taking on the course after a year of cancelled events and disappoint. Plapp will be racing with the InForm TM Insight MAKE team and after a fantastic Festival of Cycling will be looking to really make an impact.

Western Australia’s biggest NRS team, VeloFit Australia will be making the trip over to Victoria for the event with riders Josh Wilson, Matt Burton, Jacob Langham, Pat Sac-Williams, Luke Thompson and Xavier Cooper out to show everyone they are the best from the west!

Defending female champion Matilda Raynolds will also be returning with the Specialized Women’s Racing Team, if successful she will become the first female to win the race for a second time. Raynolds said to SBS after last year’s victory “There was no pressure… I was just able to go out there and ride my bike all day’. We’ll see if she feels the same this year if she manages to pull off another excellent victory.
