As the summer months draw to an end, so does the track season and what a season we have had, with two state championship events held in recent weeks and the innovative Track Cycling League Series. For those who will be continuing their track campaign to represent the state at Track National Championships, I wish you all the best on your journey.

The BMX State Series kicked off in Wynyard last weekend for the first of the six rounds series, with points contributing to the National Cup Leaderboard. We are looking forward to round 2, which is proudly hosted by Launceston BMX Club.

MTB clubs have been enjoying the warmer weather, hosting a number of club events in the lead up to the 2021 AusCycling MTB National Championships held in Maydena from 8 -14 March.

We are excited to release the 2021 Road Roster next week and are very much looking forward to the state Time Trial Championships being the first major event on 17th April, which will include Junior, Elite, Masters and Para-cyclist categories.

The first half of 2021 is shaping up to have plenty of opportunities for cycling, no matter which discipline you choose.

Enjoy the ride!

New to bike riding or always wanted to try a different cycling discipline?

A Come and Try event is a great way to get a taste for bike riding or try a different discipline.  Not to mention have heaps of fun and learn about the local club in your area.

Clubs will generally run Come and Try sessions for free or a small charge.  Even if you don’t have a bike, some clubs will provide equipment.

So dust off the bmx, mtb, fixie or hybrid, bring your friends and find out what is going on in your area this weekend.
