IMPORTANT COVID-19 ADVICE FOR QUEENSLAND
AFFILIATED MTB CLUBS
Dear Club Committee Members,
Further to the email sent by MTBA on Friday 15th May the Queensland Government have released a checklist and guidelines to help the sport, recreation and fitness industry Return to Play. Both can be downloaded from the Resources tab on the website below.
Clubs must read these guidelines, follow all directions issued by the Queensland Government and refer to MTBA's Guidelines for the Resumption of MTB Activities in a COVID19 Environment (https://www.mtba.org.au/club/covid-19/) when making decisions and planning for the resumption of MTB activities by their club.
The sport, recreation and fitness industries in Queensland are currently in stage one restrictions. For mountain biking this means we can go for an informal recreational ride with our family and friends in groups of no more than 10, adhering to physical distancing guidelines and other recommendations.
However, clubs cannot organise a formal social ride at this stage. Below is a summary of the restrictions in each stage as they relate to sport in Queensland.
Assistance from all clubs and MTBA members is crucial to help reduce the spread of COVID19. Hopefully restrictions in Queensland and throughout Australia will continue to be gradually and safely relaxed so we can get back to participating in mountain biking and other sport and recreational activities.
