With the launch of AusCycling we are pleased to provide you with important information about your role as a Commissaire or Official.  

This message will provide you with the Commissaire Pathway, Re-Accreditation, Clothing, Technical Regulations, Insurance and Working with Children Checks.

Accreditation Commissaire Pathway

The AusCycling Education Team has developed a Commissaire and BMX Club Official Education Framework that will allow all Commissaire and Officials to obtain a multi-disciplinary accreditation and provide further ongoing professional development.

The following table outlines the framework.

Your current Commissaire or BMX Club Officials accreditation will remain unchanged until you've undertaken another course or re-accredit.

*Please note that the Road and Track course will still have a two step process prior to being considered eligible to undertake a National Commissaire course.


AusCycling will be providing clothing to our Commissaires and Officials shortly and have additional clothing available for purchase. 

Please continue to wear the BMXA, CA and MTBA clothing until we provide further information about the clothing process. 

Re-accreditation at the expiry of your current Commissaire accreditation will continue to be required. 

AusCycling will be in contact with you prior to your re-accreditation to provide the specific requirements.
Upcoming Courses

The Education Team has partnered with etrainu to deliver the Regional Commissaire course and BMX Club Official.  These courses will be launched shortly.

All National Commissaire courses within the specific disciplines will continue as they are have 
previously.  Dates and location of National courses will be confirmed early in 2021.

AusCycling will continue to offer comprehensive insurance for all accredited Commissaires and Officials including:
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance ($5,000,000)
  • Public and Products Liability ($20,000,000)
  • Personal Accident Insurance
Technical Regulations

AusCycling has released a new chapter based set of Technical Regulations.

General Regulations
BMX Racing
BMX Freestyle
Cycling ESport
Mountain Bike

Please note the BMX Regulations do not come into effect until January 1 2021.  Until this time the BMXA Rule Book should continue to be used.

A specific communique with any changes to the regulations will be circulated next week.
Working With Children Checks 

Maintaining a Child Safe environment is critical for AusCycling. If you are working with children or vulnerable people as a Commissaire or Official you are required to maintain a Working With Children Check (or equivalent).

Each State and Territory has a different approach to the transition to AusCycling.  To ensure your requirements are met please please follow the instructions for each State or Territory. 

If you are located in one of the following States or Territories you are required to undertake a registration change as described below.
