COVID19 Restrictions Summary Per State/Territory.

Below is a current summary of return to play requirements in each state/territory as at 2nd July 2020. 

Clubs and individuals are reminded to check the relevant directions in their location.

Funding Update

A number of state/territory government agencies have funding available to assist clubs with
resuming their activities, compliant with hygiene and physical requirements and other activities.

COVID19 Sport and Recreation Grants Program Tranche 2 provides funding of up to
$3 000 per organisation is available to assist ensure a safe return to play under the
organisation’s COVID-19 Safety or Return to Play plan.

There are a number of funding opportunities currently open in the ACT.
  • Community Sport and Recreation Development Program- Applications close 5pm 10 July.
  • Inclusive Participation Funding Program. Applications close 10 July
  •  Women’s Sport & Recreation Participation & Leadership Program

The Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund will provide funds for minor capital works and
support clubs to purchase revenue generating equipment to support Return to Play and will open
in Stage 3.

There are a number of grant programs open for sport and active recreation organisations in
  • Active Regional Communities Grants
  • Community Sporting & Recreation Facilities Fund
  • Country Sport Enrichment Scheme

The Community Wellbeing and Resilience grants opens 17 July. Funding of between $10,000 and $100,000 is available for projects which will support wellbeing and resilience with an emphasis on mental, physical (activity and nutrition) and/or social wellbeing.

As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Mountain Bike Australia would like to announce a revised National Cup fee structure.

Club Sport - Free support and training for Clubs

Just a reminder that all clubs have access to Club Spot including training opportunities and resources.

Your club contact should have received an email from Sports Community with your clubs membership & login details.
Your Sports Community Membership is an online training and support resource specifically created to help your club succeed.
Sports Community hosts hundreds of resources, checklists, templates and online training to educate, inspire and inform club volunteers.

Come 'N' Try Days

Get the most out of your affiliation with MTBA by hosting a 'Come 'N' Try' Day at your club.

As well as being a fun social activity, this is a great way to engage with potential new members. Insurance coverage is included, and all affiliated clubs are eligible to run one every 12 months.

Live Your Life Off-Road Posters for Clubs

MTBA have created a set of generic Live Your Life Off-Road posters which are now available to clubs.

A3 in size, the posters have room to allow clubs to add in details of an upcoming event, social ride or event your next Come 'n' Try day.

To request posters, simply email with your details, including how many posters you would like.

Sports Voucher Scheme

Please register your club with your relevant state/territory for the sport voucher scheme. More information on how to register is available via the links.

Northern Territory: Next round of vouchers open 1 July 2020.

Australian Trail Difficulty Rating System (TDRS)

The Australian TDRS as featured in the Australian MTB Trail Guidelines has been revised. 

Changes have been made to the symbols for the two new grades - green trail with some blue sections and blue trail with some black sections. 

A revised version will be forwarded to all those who have purchased or received a copy of the Guidelines and a copy will be available for download from the MTBA website.
