ONLINE REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSED. You may still register at the event, however a late fee of $40.00 is applicable. Late registrations strictly close three (3) hours before the schedules race and will only be accepted during the published registration times as per the event schedule, i.e. races held at 1:00pm close strictly at 10:00am.
Membership Requirements: To register and participate in this event, riders must be an Australian Citizen and hold a valid MTBA Membership at the time of registering. Please note: Membership must be valid on the date of the event for which you are registering. If your membership expires before the date of the event, you must renew your membership before entering this event. MTBA Recreation Members may upgrade to a Race Membership at anytime through the MTBA Online Services System or opt to purchase a discounted Race Day Licence Upgrade.
Masters Riders: Masters aged riders that have raced as an elite rider and earned UCI points since January 1st 2020, must enter the Elite Category in the same discipline. They cannot race in their age category.
2019 National Champion Discounts: MTBA provide discounted entry into the 2020 National Championships for the top three (1st – 3rd) eligible riders in Cross-Country Olympic, Downhill & Trials from recognised categories at the previous National Championship. Riders may claim their discount when completing an online entry for the 2020 National Championships by entering their MTBA Membership Number in the ‘promotional code’ field during the online entry process. Discounts only apply to the event/s in which the rider received the award and will not extend to other disciplines. Please note: It is the entrants’ responsibility to claim their discount at the time of entering. MTBA will not issue refunds for riders who fail to validate their promotion code when entering.
For 2020 and going forward, U13 will no longer be recognised by MTBA as a National Championships category. In consultation with the MTBA Members Advisory Commission (MAC – Sport & Technical), this decision has been made to:
U13s will be catered for at the MTBA 2020 National Championship in Bright with races providing for participation and recognising Australia’s best up and coming young riders.
There will be a number of opportunities for U13s at Bright 2020 with a range of race, coaching and education opportunities provided for riders and parents.
Day Race Permits and Free Trial Memberships will be accepted for U13 events.
Race courses will be modified to reflect the Guidelines on Junior Participation and (racing), limiting race time and difficulty of terrain to maintain appropriate safety and reflect rider stage of development.
All riders including podium places will be awarded and recognised.
Discounted entry fees apply to all Under 13 events. Entries will be accepted on the day up to 3 hours prior to racing (excluding Downhill).
At Bright 2020 the following Under 13 events have been confirmed:
All participants in the above races will receive 2020 Tier 1 National Cup points in their respective categories (excluding Pump Track, Cross-Country Relay and beginners’ race).
National Championship jerseys will not be awarded.
MTBA are committed to providing as much opportunity for our juniors as possible to race, compete and develop their MTB skills but are conscious of doing this in line with worlds best practice re junior development and our adopted regulations, policies and procedures to ensure we are having best regard for our junior athletes wellbeing. at MTBA events and via online resources and development pathways (coaching clinics, camps).
MTBA are finalising an updated Junior National Competition framework to provide for young riders aged Under 13 and below which will be incorporated into the Technical Regulations with information to assist clubs and key stakeholders with the practical implementation and facilitation of young racing.
The MTBA Achievement Awards recognise the phenomenal contributions made by the clubs, members, volunteers, riders, coaches, event promoters and commissaires in the mountain bike community. The awards are yours and MTBA’s way of acknowledging achievements and recognising these contributions.

Category winners will be announced at the awards function to be held on Thursday 12th March as part of the 2020 MTBA National Championships.
The Local Sporting Champions (LSC) program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young sportsmen and women aged 12-18 to be used towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing, coaching or officiating at an official National Sporting Organisation (NSO) endorsed State or National Championship.
If successful, applicants will receive a $500 grant.

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) has been notified of this event, and may conduct random testing during the Mountain Bike Australia National Championships.
To ensure that you are adequately informed on testing procedures, please read the guidelines provided by ASADA here. Please note that blood samples may be required along with standard urine samples.
