REGULATIONS

CHILD SAFE SPORT

Post the Royal Commission child safeguarding has become a priority for many organisations. It’s a rapidly evolving area of work as sport and recreation clubs and associations implement policies and strategies to ensure children and young people are safe.

The child protection section on Play by the Rules website has undergone some changes recently including information on individual state and territory working with children check requirements and mandatory reporting specific to each jurisdiction. Other sections updated include understanding child abuse, taking images of children at sporting events and creating child safe organisations.

TECHNICAL REGULATIONS

The MTBA Technical Regulations have recently been reviewed, revised and updated. The updated Club/Regional Regulations and National Regulations take effect 1st July 2018 and can be found on the Publications page of our website.

Please take the time to read these updated Regulations and ensure your club/organisation implements the changes from 1st July 2018.

Updates are highlighted in red throughout both documents to assist with identifying changes.

RESOURCES

REPORTS

In May 2018 MTBA set up a reminder process within the MOS System that will alert coaches and commissaries when their First Aid Certificate or Working with Children Accreditation was due to expire, with emails being set out 8 weeks and 2 weeks prior to the expiry date listed on their member file.

It is important for clubs to ensure these documents are current and up to date when operating club events and activities for insurance purposes. If your club would like to know the status of its coaches and commissaires, email education@mtba.asn.au
